| Lotte Lenya Competition Triumph |
|
On Saturday April 12th I competed in the finals for the Kurt Weill Foundation's Lotte Lenya Competition and am thrilled to have won 2nd place!! In total, I won over $8,000 in prizes--thank you KWF! It was a a very special day for me, for Weill's music has been my specialty and love for many years now and to be able to perform it for those who appreciate the genre, and be specifically rewarded for my efforts, was hugely gratifying. Here's a link that gives the details of the competition, held at the Eastman School of Music, and judged by Victoria Clark, tony award winning actress/diva extraordinaire, Theodore S. Chapin, President of the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, and opera conductor James Holmes. |
