Start spreading the news...

...well I left about 3 weeks ago but the dust has finally settled and it's official - I'm a New Yorker now! I left my beautiful hometown, my loving family, my wonderful friends, my great cheap apartment with the best roomies, a supportive artistic community...to come to Bushwick. (weep, weep)

Aw, just kidding. Things have been exciting here - I actually live in "East Williamsburg" as they call it now with two great Sarahs, but it's reeeally quite "East" - at least 2 stops away from the main flow of hipster gentrification.  My neighborhood actually looks dead on for the Mission 20 years ago (or so I imagine.) I've been taking classes, having meetings, coachings, etc. up a storm and have probably walked the equivalent of the length of China since I've been here - HOW did Carrie walk in all those heels?!

I've also gone to a bunch of auditions, which, because I'm an Equity Membership Candidate  (a candidate of the actor's union) and not "Equity" as they say, I have to get up at the crack of dawn to make my 45 minute commute to midtown Manhattan to wait in line at 7 am (for the really popular audtions for, say, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and wait an hour before they open the doors, and then sign up at 9:00 am and wait until 4:30 pm ish to be seen. Seersly! But it's all so new to me so it's actually exciting, and I've met some hilarious people (thank goodness!) while sitting around for 9 hours so it's a blessing in disguise. I'm also trying to find the right places to book Gaucho to come out here this summer - yes! - so if you happen to know a good place for us to play, do tell.

More updates to come!
